The UK’s leading cosmetic surgery group has teamed-up with a group of four London 2012 Olympic athletes as part of a new advertising campaign, designed to encourage more people to experience the benefits of laser hair removal.
Zara Dampney and Shauna Mullin from the Team GB beach volleyball team were joined by diver Pete Waterfield, an Olympic silver medallist, and Commonwealth heptathlon champion Louise Hazel. The athletes each underwent an individual consultation during which a nurse covered exactly how the treatment works and assessed their suitability for the treatment, before undergoing laser hair removal in London, at The Harley Medical Group’s Harley Street clinic.
Before walking out into a crowded arena, the athletes need to be 100 per cent sure that they are looking their best and will be able to compete to the best of their ability. Zara, who will be performing on a specially made beach at Horse Guards Parade in the capital, stressed the importance of knowing that she is looking her best when she walks out onto a court.
She said: “Obviously it is really important to feel confident and to not have to worry about those kinds of things, and we’re travelling around so much that it can be quite difficult to keep on top of it. With permanent hair removal it is one less thing for us to have to worry about.”
Louise added: “Not only has it given me confidence on the track, knowing that I can put my skimpy knickers on and feel safe and sound, it saves so much time with shaving and having to de-frizz and de-fuzz every day.”
Established in 1983, The Harley Medical Group offers a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures, from botox injections and line and wrinkle treatments, to breast implants and face lifts.
