Women Are Still Lusting After The Perfect Body Shape With The Hourglass Figure Proving Most Popular

The Hospital Group has seen a dramatic increase in women plumping for breast enlargement, with women citing voluptuous celebs such as Kelly Brook, Eva Mendes and Megan Fox as having the figures they admire most.

Youth-Boosting Ops Are Booming

The Harley Medical Group, the UK’s largest cosmetic surgery provider has revealed that youth-boosting ops are booming, as older workers look to compete with their younger counterparts.

Sagging skin with lines and wrinkles on the face and neck are sure giveaways of the signs of ageing, as skin looses elasticity. Enquiries show that women are who were thinking about a facelift also considered a combination of a neck lift and facelift together, in order to banish the turkey neck and sagging jowls in one fell swoop.

Liz Dale, Director of The Harley Medical Group, said: “Redundancy and unemployment levels are increasing and people are looking for ways to keep themselves one step ahead of their colleagues. Most patients think about surgery for many years and office competition simply acts as a catalyst.”

Liz Dale added: “This latest ‘age preventing’ trend within the +50 market is noticeable across our 26 clinics. It appears that older workers feel it’s important to invest in their looks, despite cutting back across other areas.”

For many patients it is all about feeling more confident as they get older; there is increased pressure in the work place as it is. The stress takes its toll on health and appearance and this will inevitably affect the way in which people feel about themselves. All these feel good procedures make a significant difference to self esteem and that confidence impacts on other areas in life.

Recession Doesn’t Deter Plastic Surgery Enthusiasts

The Hospital Group has reported that facelifts are gaining popularity, despite the recession. THG have seen a 14% increase in facelifts over the past year.

Facial surgery, also known as a rhytidoplasty, can reduce wrinkles and help to rejuvenate your appearance. The best patient is someone with jowls, loose neck skin and who has a general saggy appearance to the skin on the face and neck. After surgery, the face is smoother, tauter and more youthful looking. A spokesperson for The Hospital Group, said: “Since the recession hit, we have not seen a down turn in demand. Patients who are adamant on slowing down the signs of ageing will save their money and go without other luxuries, in order to fund their procedure.”

During this common plastic surgery procedure, Incisions are made in the natural crease lines in front and behind the ears and behind the hairline. A facelift is most beneficial those who have jowls, loose neck skin and a general saggy appearance to the skin on the face and neck. If the patient also has lots of wrinkles, non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment can be combined with a facelift for an improved overall result.

Why More Women Are Choosing To Have A Breast Lift

The Hospital Group has reported that the number of women having a breast lift has increased by 21% over the last year.

A breast lift, or mastopexy, as it is formally known, is a procedure that suits women whose breasts may be pendulous as a result of a relaxation of the ligaments due to weight loss, age or having children.

The actual size may be fine but the breasts have lost their volume and tone or the nipples may point downward. However, if extra volume is required then a breast uplift procedure may be combined with implants for the best overall result.

A spokesperson for The Hospital Group, said: “More and more woman, post pregnancy, have chosen to have a breast uplift to rebuild their confidence in their bodies. Particularly after breast feeding women lose volume in their breasts and want to get their femininity back.”

During this common plastic surgery procedure, the surgeon will carefully remove a small section of excess skin from each breast to lift the bust line. The result will give the patient’s bust a much more youthful appearance. It is often combined with the insertion of breast implants in patients who have lost volume in their breasts as a result of age, weight loss or breast feeding.

The Hospital Group is one of the UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, number one in obesity surgery and breast uplift experts. So whatever your requirements, you can rest assured in the safe hands of the professionalism and experience that THG has to offer.

Blonde Bombshell Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace Has Been Voted In The Top 10 Best Surgery Category

Blonde bombshell Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has been voted in the top 10 “Best Surgery” category in this week’s Heat magazine as part of their cosmetic surgery special.

The Big Brother star recently had a breast enlargement at The Hospital Group, increasing her bust size from a DD to an E.

Aisleyne said: “You hear of people booking in for surgery and not getting the look they wanted, and that was me before.

“I just wanted to get the shape sorted out. My boobs were sitting quite far apart so I wanted something which gave me much more of a cleavage.

“I definitely don’t want them massive like Jordan or super-pert like Victoria Beckham, just something natural which is going to look good in a dress.”

Heat asked 1,000 of their readers to vote on their best and worst celebrity surgery as well as procedures they would most like to have. Liposuction came out on top, closely followed by breast enlargement and nose jobs. Surprisingly, pec implants came in eighth place.

Hypnotist Claims To Be Able to Make Boobs Bigger with the Power of His Mind

A North Yorks Stage hypnotist is claiming that he can help women “think” that they have bigger breasts by just using the power of his mind.

David Knight has recently launched a new CD which tells listeners “Your breasts are growing… growing larger now” and is that confident in his technique that he offers a money back guarantee if listeners are not completely satisfied with the results.

The hypnotherapist is said to have an 85 per-cent success rate, saying: “Every lady’s breasts have been grown by the mind, the mind grows it, so the mind can enhance it.”

However earlier this week Mr Knight’s claims were tossed aside as the BBC program Inside Out demonstrated how easy it is to register as a hypnotherapist.

Although some people may think that hypnotherapy is the answer, breast augmentation offers a guaranteed permanent enhancement.

The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgery clinics offers a vast range of surgical implants as part of its new Natrelle range.

With over 500 different shapes, sizes and textures, the Natrelle implant allows for a much more bespoke breast, which the patient has decided upon herself with the help of a dedicated specialist when undergoing a breast enlargement procedure.

In 2008, The Hospital Group saw a staggered 2,200 breast augmentations performed, making them one of the country’s leading breast surgery providers.

Harley Medical Group Reports Big Enquiry Increase In The City

The Harley Medical Group’s City clinic, in the heart of the Square Mile, has historically been one of the 26 clinic strong Group’s leading UK clinics but has seen static figures over the last six months. However, September figures for the Group’s City Clinic, released today, show a 24% month on month enquiry increase, which could result in optimism amongst City workers.

Male patients are driving the September growth at The Harley Medical Group’s City Clinic, which is based at Great Street Thomas Apostle, two minutes walking distance from Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan. Abdominoplasties - tummy tucks – amongst male patients are up 68% year-on-year and male breast reduction – reduction of Moobs, or man boobs – is up 14% year on year for the month of September.

Female execs are opting for Non Surgical Treatments with September bookings up 27% month on month in The Harley Medical Group’s City Clinic.

Both male and female patients opted for Botox last month, which was up 18% last month, year-on-year, as City workers look to stay ahead of the competition in an increasingly competitive climate.

Liz Dale, Director of The Harley Medical Group, said: “There certainly seems to be a renewed sense of optimism amongst City workers, with surgical bookings for the next quarter up by over 20% on last year for our City Clinic.”

The Harley Medical Group, which has 26 UK clinics, last reported a big hike in bookings for its City Clinic three years ago, with the Winter 2005 City Surgery boom then attributed to the City bonus season.

A Harley Medical Group patient who works as a sales analyst at one of the UK’s top five investment banks, said: “Although my job makes it hard to stay trim I made a lifestyle decision to lose weight earlier this year, which left me with a flap of loose skin on my stomach and stubborn fat on my chest. I felt terribly self-conscious and uncomfortable in the gym, which was my main motivation for surgery. I’ve booked in for a tummy tuck and male breast reduction in November. With the total surgery bill coming to around £10,000, I’ll be using my bonus money to fund the surgery.”

Another patient who works for a City insurance firm, said: “I have had botox for five years, usually three times a year. I haven’t had the treatment for over a year as I was really tightening my purse strings, but I feel more confident that my job is safe and so I booked in for botox last week. It was long overdue, I look and feel great.”

Report Warns Against Botox Binges

The Harley Medical Group has revealed that recent reports from the States suggest women are binging on Botox to the point where their faces look frozen. Suffering from so-called ‘Wrinklerexia’, some Botox-devotees become so obsessed with their crease-free image they begin to see lines where there are none and binge on Botox to get a freeze-frame face.

Doctors at The Harley Medical Group – the UK’s largest cosmetic surgery provider – strongly recommend that patients opt for smaller doses of Botox and are turning patients away who demand treatment they don’t need.

Liz Dale, Director of The Harley Medical Group said: “Used properly, Botox is a fantastic treatment giving smoother, tighter and more youthful looking skin. But like with any procedure, it’s highly inadvisable to have more done than is necessary. At The Harley Medical Group all Botox treatments are administered by specially trained doctors who will look out for signs of a Botox ‘habit’ and will advise patients according to their individual needs.”

The Harley Medical Group works tirelessly to maintain the highest standards in the industry for the benefits all cosmetic surgery and non surgical patients. The group is at the forefront of the campaign to ensure that the Government continues to regulate the use of certain laser types used in cosmetic surgery and non surgical treatments so that patients are protected from rogue practitioners.

Dr Nick Milojevic, Botox Doctor at The Harley Medical Group said: “When used correctly, it’s extremely difficult to see if someone has had a Botox treatment. Botox has a fantastic preventative benefit, helping to prevent more wrinkles from forming whilst stopping lines and creases already present from deepening. ‘Baby Botox’, a lighter variation of the treatment, only uses extremely low doses of the toxin to give a very subtle and natural effect.”

Winners Of The Cosmetic Surgery Competition Reveal Their Experiences With Their Cosmetic Surgery Treatments In Prague

Five UK ladies, winners of the UK Cosmetic Surgery Competition run by http://www.cosmetic-plastic-surgery.info, underwent their chosen surgical treatments in Prague, Czech Republic.

Charlotte, Helen, Kathryn, Vicky and Clare shared a dream: that cosmetic plastic surgery would change their life for the better. Each of them had a different problem, impeding either their private life or their career opportunities.

Helen, 27, from Shelf Halifax said: “For me, the surgery was not necessarily just so that I could look pretty in clothes, but to close a chapter of my life that was very hard to deal with. At 14 years old, I was scouted by a model agency but put on four stone within the next year, so my hopes were dashed. I found being overweight to be very depressing and hard to deal with, and my saggy stomach was a constant reminder of those days. I felt like I was carrying a piece of someone else around with me and found it so frustrating that I couldn’t do anything to get rid of it after I had worked so hard to lose the weight.”

Life changed for Helen and her co-winners during May – June 2009 when they all underwent their chosen cosmetic surgeries. Tummy tuck, rhinoplasty, breast remodelling and breast enlargement were performed by leading Czech plastic surgeons: Tomas Dolezal M.D., Josef Kulhanek M.D., Karel Urban M.D., Roman Kufa M.D. and Libor Kment M.D.

“I really enjoyed the whole experience and I would recommend to anyone who is considering surgery to go for it. It really has changed my mind and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. The staff of the Esthe clinic was really helpful and I felt really looked after. Again „Thank you!“ for this fantastic opportunity and you have truly changed my life forever!” said Charlotte (22), a young mother from London. She had had two children at a very young age, which had completely ruined her breasts. The resultant loss of shape and too much of excess skin destroyed her confidence as a woman. In the end, it ruined her relationship with the father of her children and caused a deep depression and feelings of insecurity in starting a new relationship.

Pavel Hilbert, Chief Executive of http://www.cosmetic-plastic-surgery.info said: “Breast enlargement surgery restored Charlotte‘s self-confidence. She is once again the happy young lady she used to be, enjoying life, her kids and a new relationship.” She is only one of the thousands of satisfied patients who have placed themselves into the skilled hands of Czech plastic surgeons. The Czech Republic, a centre of modern plastic surgery, numbers among countries with a low rate of MRSA infections compared to Great Britain, Ireland, USA or Japan, for example. Czech plastic surgeons are highly educated, trained, skilled and qualified. “We are happy we have helped five ladies achieve their dreams, allowing them to take advantage of the high-quality care and dedicated professional service of Czech plastic surgeons.” adds Hilbert

A New Study Presented At The 26th Annual Meeting Of The American Society For Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Confirms That Laparoscopic Gastric Banding Surgery Results In An 83% Improvement Or Remission Of Type 2 Diabetes

A new study presented at the 26th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery confirms that laparoscopic gastric banding surgery (LAGB) results in sustained weight loss as well as an 83% improvement or remission of Type 2 diabetes.

A New Study Presented At The 26th Annual Meeting Of The American Society For Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Confirms That Laparoscopic Gastric Banding Surgery Results In An 83% Improvement Or Remission Of Type 2 Diabetes

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgery (LAGB) not only results in sustained weight loss for morbidly obese patients, but it also provides an improvement or remission of Type 2 diabetes in 83% of the patients.

This news, the results of a new study, was presented at the 26th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The event was held in Dallas, Texas, and Slimband was there to learn first-hand about the ground breaking study.

To date, this is the largest long-term study on the impact of gastric banding on diabetes. This study strongly suggests that there is a definite connection between diabetes and morbid obesity. The study noted that the patients who achieved and maintained a significant weight loss also realized the greatest remission of diabetes in a shorter time frame.

The study included 95 participants who ranged in age prior to surgery from 21 to 68 years, with an average BMI (Body Mass Index) of 46. Researchers from New York University (NYU) Medical Center conducted the study from January 2002 through January 2004. Approximately 88% of the patients were taking oral medications to control their diabetes and about 15% were using insulin. On average, the patients had been diagnosed with diabetes about 6 ½ years before surgery.

As routine follow up to the surgery, the patients’ weight was monitored and blood tests were done. During the first year, researchers followed each patient on a monthly basis, and during the second year the follow-ups were every three months.

After that, the follow-ups were annual unless more frequent visits were needed. At the end of the five-year follow-up period the data clearly showed that in about 40% of patients, diabetes was in remission and in about 43% it was improved, which resulted in a combined improvement/remission rate of 83%.

The incidence of diabetes and obesity is on the rise and that has resulted in several studies for effective methods for sustaining weight loss and for diabetes remission. Bariatric Surgery has been shown to be an excellent option for the treatment of morbid obesity as well as a way to improve Type 2 diabetes.

ASMBS is a non-profit organization that works to progressively move forward in the science of gastric banding surgery.

The Harley Medical Group Has Released Figures Showing The Number Of Enquiries By Women Aged 55+ Is Up 9% Year-On-Year With Non-Surgical Rejuvenation Treatments Most In Demand By This Group

The uplift is partly thought to be driven by increased competition in the workplace, which was cited as the second most common reason for treatment, after wanting to ‘look as young as they feel’.

The Harley Medical Group

The demand for non-surgical rejuvenation procedures at The Harley Medical Group is up 14% over the previous year as the so-called ‘Arlene effect’, where older women are replaced in a professional role by a younger woman, is playing out across the country. Female patients at the UK’s biggest cosmetic surgery provider are telling medical staff they feel under pressure to keep looking their best in order to stay on top of the professional ladder.

The silver surgery market is now the fastest growing consumer audience at The Harley Medical Group for injectibles, to treat under-eye tear troughs and facial lines and wrinkles.

Liz Dale, Director, The Harley Medical Group, said, “It’s interesting to see that pressure in the workplace is a key driver for women of more advanced years, given the current high level of competition for jobs. Women over 55 have really boosted our non-surgical market, which now accounts for 29% of our total revenue.”

A 57 year old worker at one of the UK’s top five advertising agencies, said, “Advertising is a young person’s industry and I became aware I was missing out on key promotions to younger colleagues because of my age. I felt my competency was partly measured by my looks and I was being judged as ‘over the hill’ by both male and female associates when my face began to reflect my age.

“I opted for Botox and fillers to lift, plump and smooth the skin on my face. My role is client facing and my face is one of the tools of my trade. I did feel cosmetic treatments were a necessary step and it hasn’t gone unnoticed how much fresher and younger I look.”

Brenda Scott, 63, took the more radical option of having Blepharoplasty surgery (eye-bag removal) at The Harley Medical Group. She commented, “I don’t think surgery is the right solution for everyone but there is certainly more pressure on women to stay looking their best. You just have to look on TV to see there are two rules – one for men and another for women.

The Harley Medical Group, The UK’s Largest Cosmetic Surgery Provider, Has Released Its Performance Figures Covering The 12 Months Up To The End Of June 2009, Which Shows An Overall Growth Of 4% Over The Previous Year

The period covered by the report has proved to be a busy time for The Harley Medical Group, which achieved increases in both its cosmetic surgery provision and a notable uplift in its non-surgical divisions, with the group’s clinics in Cardiff, Newcastle and Southampton performing particularly well.

The Harley Medical Group

While breast enlargement remained the most requested surgical procedure across The Harley Medical Group’s 26 clinics, abdominoplasty surgery saw the biggest growth across the financial year (up 23%), followed by rhinoplasty which increased by 15% and liposuction (13%).

The non-surgical division has also been rapidly expanding and now accounts for 29% of Group revenue (up from 27% a year ago), with facial peels showing the biggest treatment uplift, up 171% year on year.

To help deal with the increase in the number of requests, The Harley Medical Group opened six new clinics throughout the year, with new branches launched in Maidstone, Cambridge, Reading, Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester. The next clinic is due to be opened in Glasgow this September, giving the group a total of 27 clinics, although Chairman Mel Braham intends to quickly grow the estate, with the target set at 90 clinics across the UK and Ireland.

Mel Braham commented, “Per capita, people are five times more likely to have cosmetic surgery in the US so there’s a huge market potential still remaining in the UK. Despite the recession we’re seeing increases in surgical and non-surgical procedures at our existing clinics and that’s why we’ve committed to an expansion programme.”

Three new revolutionary treatments are also due to be released exclusively through The Harley Medical Group in 2009, including the first and currently only, FDA approved treatment for successfully reducing and removing stretch marks, a problem that afflicts nearly 90% of all women over the age of 25.

Report: British Breasts Go Smaller

The Harley Medical Group reveals that, as Ulrika Johnson grabs the headlines for her reduced and reshaped breasts, the trend for down-sizing has hit its 26 clinics with breast reduction surgery up 7.8%. In addition, 75% of women who have had a breast augmentations at The Harley Medical Group in the last six months, opted to go up just
one or two cup sizes.

Mr Riccardo Frati, surgeon for The Harley Medical Group, comments on breast reduction surgery: “Many women feel over-sized breasts dominate their appearance, some find it makes exercising very difficult and in extreme cases large breasts can cause physical discomfort including backache, neck pain and poor posture. A breast reduction will take away excess tissue, fat and skin to give smaller, better proportioned breasts.”

Liz Dale, director at The Harley Medical Group, adds: “Over the last year we have seen a definite move towards smaller, more natural looking breast shapes, as illustrated by today’s breast reduction figures. Where women are choosing to have breast enlargement surgery they’re opting to go up just one or two sizes with C/D cup the most popular size. Contrary to popular belief, most cosmetic surgery patients want to fit in – not stand out.”

Breast reduction surgery usually takes three hours to complete, depending on the size of the breasts. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic and patients stay in hospital for one or two nights. Breast reduction patients are required to wear a supportive bra for up to three months to keep the breasts well supported whilst healing takes place and ensure the best possible results.

All patients considering cosmetic surgery should ensure that their surgeon is trained and registered in the GMC Specialist Register as a plastic surgeon and ensure that their first consultation is carried out by a medical professional. Every surgeon at The Harley Medical Group is GMC registered as a Plastic Surgeon and all consultations are carried out by a fully qualified Cosmetic Surgery Nurse Counsellor. The Harley Medical Group has been established for 26 years and has 26 clinics in the UK.

He said: “There are nipple surgery options out there and a minority of women seek to change the size or shape of their nipples through reconstructive surgery purely for cosmetic reasons. Another option, nipple elevation, involves the nipple being raised above its existing level to enhance its appearance and make the breast look more pert.

“At The Harley Medical Group we can also resolve the retraction of nipples, which can be a problem for women who want to breast feed.

“Patients having Breast Augmentations will often find their nipples will remain erect for a while after surgery though after a time the nipples will return to their normal state.”

As rumours abound that Victoria Beckham has had a breast reduction, The Harley Medical Group has reported that the celebrity trend for smaller, more natural looking breasts, is increasingly popular amongst women coming into the Group’s 26 clinics. 75% of women who have had a Breast Augmentation at The Harley Medical Group in the last six months opted to go up just one or two cup sizes. Reflecting the less-is-more attitude now taken by many celebrities including Jordan and Ulrika Jonsson, women are opting for a more ‘real’ look.

Liz Dale, Director at The Harley Medical Group, said: “Over the last year we have seen a definite move towards smaller, more natural looking breast shapes across both our reduction and augmentation business. Look-at-me, statement décolletage is definitely becoming less popular. This could in part be due to the global trend we have seen in a lot of consumer areas for taking a more subtle approach to personal presentation.”

All patients considering cosmetic surgery should ensure that their surgeon is trained and registered in the GMC Specialist Register as a Plastic Surgeon and ensure that their first consultation is carried out by a medical professional.

Chubby Celebs Make Obesity The “Norm”

Stick thin celebrities have long been held responsible for the pressure on ordinary people to lose weight – now it would seem the tables have turned and fat celebrities are being blamed for the rising obesity epidemic.

Experts say that tubby celebs such as “Gavin and Stacey’s” James Corden and Ruth Jones are making obesity more socially acceptable and “normal”.

The profile of “larger” celebs has considerably risen over the years, with names such as Dawn French, Jonny Vegas, Peter Kay and of course Fern Britton (who has now lost her weight), appearing on our screens.

A recent report revealed that 23 per cent of Brits are now classed as obese compared to just 11 per cent 10 years ago.

More than 2,000 people took part in a nationwide survey in which researchers found that 17 per cent of obese people refuse to consider taking action to lose weight, whether via surgery or extreme diet regimes.

Weight loss doesn’t have to revolve around fad diets and excruciating exercise regimes though. The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading obesity and cosmetic surgery providers, offers a wide range of obesity treatments including gastric band and body shaping treatments including liposuction and tummy tuck.

Last year The Hospital Group saw a staggering 73 per cent increase in the number of enquires made regarding weight loss surgery, making them the largest obesity surgery provider in the UK.

Since The Hospital Group was established in 1992, it has grown from a small pharmaceutical company to one of the UK’s foremost weight loss surgery providers.

For further information of The Hospital Group’s range of weight loss procedures, surgery-seekers should visit the website www.thehospitalgroup.org or call our patient care coordinators on 0845 762 6727.

Harley Medical Group service would be recommended by 98% of its patients

The Harley Medical Group, which has 26 clinics in the UK, reveals outstanding results from an independent customer satisfaction survey of patients from clinics nationwide for 2007 and 2008.

Combined results for 2007 and 2008 reveal 98% of patients would recommend the Harley
Medical Group based on their own experience – 100% responded positively in 2007 with 97% saying the same for 2008.

On overall satisfaction, patients were asked to consider all areas of service from treatment in the clinic, consultations with nurses and surgeons to their operation and post-operative support. Ninety-five per cent of 2008 patients thought the Harley Medical Group’s service was ‘very good’ or ‘good’ with 96% reporting the same for 2007.

Liz Dale, director at the Harley Medical Group, said: “We attribute these fantastic results as much to our strict medical ethos and consultation period as to the skill of our surgeons. At the Harley Medical Group we advise all patients to think long and hard about their surgery and to consider the implications for a minimum of six months before they begin the consultation procedure.”

Every patient at the Harley Medical Group will meet with a fully trained cosmetic surgerynurse counsellor for an initial consultation when each stage of the procedure, from consultation with the surgeon through to the post-operative, follow-up and recovery period will be explained thoroughly. The clinical aspects of the operation will also be covered in detail, any questions will be answered and concerns addressed. Nurse counsellors can also put potential clients in touch with other patients who have undergone the same treatment.

Only after both patient and nurse are happy to proceed will an appointment be made with a surgeon who will assess the patient for suitability and talk through the procedure in detail. (All surgeons associated with the Harley Medical Group in the UK are on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery – in Ireland with The Medical Council Ireland – and meet the requirements of the Healthcare Commission, for practicing in the UK.)
